Albion suffered just their third ever defeat to Rotherham United and it is the first time that the Millers have scored three times against Albion and the first time that they have beaten the Baggies my more than one goal. It leaves Carlos Corberán’s team still five points off the play-offs with just seven games to go.
The Baggies probably need six wins from their last seven games and only once in the 21st century has an Albion side achieved that – Gary Megson’s side won six and drew one of their last seven in 2001/02, ironically the draw was against Rotherham United, but based on Friday’s performance, Corberán’s team have no chance of matching that remarkable feat.
