The Baggies kept up their record of having won game 4 in each of their last six seasons in the second tier, and in some style!
I don’t think anyone say that second half performance coming, although Albion did look fairly potent going forward int the second half at Carrow Road. Rangers’ equaliser left everyone feeling somewhat deflated after what had been an encouraging first half performance, but to score six goals in the second half was remarkable.
It was the first time Albion had scored more than four goals in a game, and their biggest win, since they beat Gateshead 7-0 in Tony Pulis’s first game in charge in January 2015. In the league, they hadn’t scored more than four since the 5-5 draw in Sir Alex Ferguson’s last game as Manchester United manager in May 2013 and it was their biggest league win since the 7-0 thumping of Barnsley on the final day of the regular league season in 2006/7.
The Baggies move up to third place in the table, although they’ve played one more game that most clubs in the Championship, but eleven goals in two games should put them in the right frame of mind to take on the current league leaders, Tony Pulis’s Middlesbrough, on their own patch on Friday evening.
