Albion’s winless run in the league finally came to an end as Luton Town were deservedly defeated at the Hawthorns. Leeds United’s home defeat to Wigan Athletic means that Slaven Bilić’s side are back on top of the Championship table.
It is also the first time that Albion have kept a clean sheet at home since the second leg of the play-offs against Aston Villa in May last year, and the first in a regular league fixture at the Hawthorns since Jimmy Shan’s first game in charge in March, a 3-0 victory over Swansea City.
Only Roberto di Matteo’s Albion side had more points at this stage of the season and every 21st century Baggies team that has been in the top two after 30 games has been promoted.
