The win over West Ham puts Albion into the top ten in the Premier League and it is once again the Baggies’ second best start to a Premier League season only, bettered by the 10 points from 5 games achieved in 2012 under Steve Clarke which saw Albion in 3rd place.
It was the first time that Albion had scored four goals in the Premier League under Tony Pulis, although they had scored four in the FA Cup fifth round in February 2015, also against West Ham. The last time Albion scored four in the league was against Burnley under Alan Irvine in September 2014.
It is also the first time that there have been six goals in an Albion Premier League under Tony Pulis, although his first game in charge was a 7-0 win against Gateshead in the FA Cup.
The last time that a side managed by Tony Pulis scored four goals in the Premier League was in March 2011 when Stoke City beat Newcastle Utd 4-0.
It also interesting to note that in the equivalent five fixtures last season (Middlesbrough compared with Norwich), Albion managed just one point, so they are six points better off already.
