The 32-year wait did come to an end on Sunday as Albion beat Manchester United in a league game at the Hawthorns for the first time since 1984.
This season’s points tally remains four points behind the 2012/13 total of 43 points after 29 games, but this years Baggies can narrow that gap with a win over Norwich in the next game. The current run of four Premier League matches unbeaten equals the best of the season, although the previous run in November/December included three draws, and it is Albion’s best run of results since the five match run that followed the home defeat to Leicester lasts season in which the Baggies took eleven points from fifteen including the impressive 3-0 win over Chelsea.
Game 30 has produced just one win in the previous nine seasons, the unexpected 4-1 at the Valley in the Great Escape season, but a home game against a team that have taken just one point from the last nine games is as good an opportunity to end that sequence of results as they could hope for.
