Back to back wins for the Baggies have lifted them into the top half of the table and, from a season comparison point of view, this campaign is now second only to the remarkable start enjoyed by Steve Clarke back in 2012.
That season’s total of 23 points from 12 games saw the Baggies sitting proudly in 4th place; while 16 points this year is good enough for 9th, back in 2010, Roberto di Matteo’s team managed the same total from their first 12 matches, albeit with a worse goal difference to this year’s side, but it was only good enough for 11th. Other than 2012, the only other time that Albion have been in the top half of the table at this stage was in 2011 under Roy Hodgson when the Baggies were 10th with 14 points.
