Matt Phillips’ double helped Albion to another three points as they were forced to come from behind for the sixth successive league game. All four of the Baggies’ victories this season have been from losing positions.
Albion’s sixteen points see them back into fourth place but now just a point behind the leaders. They are now one of only five teams in the top four divisions to remain unbeaten.
Of Albion’s promotion campaigns, only Roberto di Matteo’s 2009 team had more points at this time of the season, while both Megson’s 2003 and Mowbray’s 2007 teams also had sixteen points. All three of those campaigns were ultimately successful.
