Two games into the restart and the Baggies are struggling to rediscover the form that has taken them to the top of the table. Defeat at Brentford doesn’t affect their position at the top of the table, until tomorrow at least, but only Megson’s 2002 team and Mowbray’s 2008 team have won promotion with fewer than 71 points after 29 games.
The Baggies must hope that they can turn things around on Wednesday evening when they face Sheffield Wednesday in game 40. It will be Albion’s first ever competitive game in July.
