Albion moved back to the top of the Championship but it wasn’t with the three points that they had hoped for, and arguably deserved, from their second visit to the Valley in six days.
Slaven’s boys moved to 53 points, three better than any other 21st century Baggies sides, and made it to the half century of league goals. It does extend the winless run in the league to five games, however, and, while Leeds’ home defeat means that Albion are back on top, Brentford have momentum and are now only seven points behind.
With the Baggies’ next fixture having been moved to Monday evening, they will once again be playing catchup should Leeds get a result from their Saturday lunchtime trip to QPR.
