Albion’s Premier League Season Comparison – 33 games

Keenan Davis’ late equaliser means that 2021 Albion remain three points adrift of 2005 Albion as they also drew game 33, which you can read about here.

This season’s tally of 25 points is some 20 behind Albion’s record tally of 45 points after 33 Premier League games achieved in 2012/13 under Steve Clarke. Despite Tony Mowbray’s side conceding four to Manchester City in game 33, this campaign’s side still has the worst defensive record of any Premier League Albion side having conceded 64 goals.

Going back to the Baggies’ worst ever season, 1985/86, game 33 saw Ron Saunders’ team record a 0-0 draw at home to Coventry City in front of just 8,831 fans. That put Albion on just 18 points, eleven points adrift of Aston Villa in 19th place (outside the relegation zone) with nine games left.

In Albion’s last Premier League season, game 33 was Darren Moore’s first in charge and he immediately ended the losing run with a 1-1 draw at home to Swansea City with Jay Rodriguez scoring for the hosts (pictured).
