Albion’s Premier League Season Comparison – 25 games

Another point moves the Baggies onto 14 points from 25 games, some three points behind their previous worst Premier League season. The are still ahead of the Baggies’ worst ever season, 1985/86.

In that campaign, game 25 took place at the Dell on New Year’s Day 1986 and the Saints won 3-1 with goals from Glenn Cockerill, Danny Wallace and David Armstrong – Imre Varadi scored the consolation for Nobby Stiles’ side.

Both games between Albion and Burnley finished 0-0 this season, and it is the first time that the Baggies have recorded two goalless draws in a league season against the same side since doing so against Middlesbrough in the 1989/60 season under Brian Talbot. They also did so with Walsall the previous season.

As for a happier memory, game 25 in the 2011/12 season was that win at Molineux, the one Wolves failed to avenge last month.
