Albion suffered their joint biggest home defeat since Michael Owen scored four of Liverpool’s six in April 2003 as Leeds United became the third team to record a five or more goal victory at the Hawthorns in the Premier League. Manchester United are the other team – Albion haven’t managed it yet!
So the Baggies end 2020 as they started it, with a game against Leeds United, although the feeling could not be more different. A telling stat is that Albion won only six games at the Hawthorns in the calendar year including the Carabao Cup victory over Harrogate Town.
Despite winning promotion, the Baggies will be glad to see the back of 2020, but will 2021 be any better?
